The process of salvation is by design a very simple one indeed, God in his infinite Love and care for us put the cookies on the bottom shelf so that even even a child can reach it.  God's desire was for all men to be saved, so he made salvation available to all who would believe on His Son Jesus.  

Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
 

Rom 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

You see it is so simple that many reject it because it eliminates us from the equation. We'd like it a little harder so that we can say that we played a role in our salvation. But, God made it a free gift, not of works lest any man should boast. So, God is saying to you come unto me little children take your rest.

God, thank you for showing me my need of a savior, and thank you for providing me an escape from the penalty of sin. Jesus, come into my heart and be the Lord of my life I repent of my sin and receive your loving sacrifice as my own. Thank You
